Jerusalem: Local Missions providing spiritual and temporal support to our neighbors in the Mount Vernon community through outreach and civic engagement.
Judea/Samaria: Domestic Missions providing spiritual and temporal support to communities outside of Mount Vernon, but within the continental United States through strategic national partnerships and relationships.
Uttermost Parts: International Missions partnering with organizations and local ministries to cross international boundaries and to engage with people who are culturally different from us.
Missions at Allen Temple is based on the model found in the book of Acts 1:8 where we are called to be Jesus’ witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea/Samaria, and the Uttermost Parts of the world. This simply means, spread the good news and meet human needs.
As part of our “Uttermost Parts” effort, each year, members of Allen Temple travel to Guatemala for 10 days for short term missions work. There, we work with Pastor Rafi and Last Call Ministries to spread the love of Jesus Christ while meeting the tangible needs of people across the country.
Since we believe in the importance of human contact, we rather “go there” than to simply send aid, and so the total cost for members of our church is subsidized by up to 50% which makes it easier for people to participate.
